“There are a few things that will jump out at you about Hotel Indigo Scottsdale, AZ. A superb location, which is bested only by an incredibly friendly staff. From Check-In with the counter staff to housekeeping personnel to the bar staff - everyone makes it a high priority to know your name.
Another unexpected perk is the covered parking. Because the area is well known for its nightlife, parking is at a premium here. No worries though, guests are guaranteed parking AND with special attention paid to their car. The area is pet-friendly and Indigo does not disappoint there either.
Many of the reviews about the noise (because of the aforementioned nightlife) is fair. I quickly learned however, that if you are noise sensitive, the staff will assign you a room in their quieter sections.
The food is ok but there are so many options within walking distance that writing out a judgment on hotel food would seem to nit-pick. The decor is absolutely spectacular and very modern in its style.
You'd be truly hard pressed to lay out many criticisms, if any, when viewing this Hotel objectively. It truly is a hidden gem.” (TripAdvisor January 2011)
“My wife and I stayed at the hotel for the BCS national championship game and had a blast. The outdoor deck area was a wonderful place to relax and meet new friends. I have to say that Dylan, the bartender, was the BEST! He truly "gets" what customer service is all about and went above and beyond to make us happy. Overall, we didn't really have any issues with noise, However, the "wood" floors do increase noise significantly. The hotel does seem to be a bit understaffed most of the time, or they weren't prepared for the crowds, but I would definitely stay here again. Walking distance to many great restaurants, bars and clubs.” (TripAdvisor January 2011)
“Hip hotel, great staff, great location. Loved the patio with the fire pit in the lounge area. We were on the side of hotel next to the bar, but the noise wasn't as bad to us as other reviewers thought. Only downside is the full sized beds vs. queen size! Great stay, will stay there again if I visit Scottsdale!” (TripAdvisor January 2011)
“I'm staying at Hotel Indigo the next six nights, and I'm more than okay with that!
This boutique hotel is beautiful and has been a gracious host thus far. The entrance to Hotel Indigo is a little confusing because you walk in a door that's on the floor below the lobby and there's nothing really down there... I felt like I walked into the wrong door... but then figured out where I was and was able to check in up at the desk. I showed up around 11am but they had a room ready which was a total lifesaver.
The room's gorgeous and has hardwood floors which just feels so much cleaner than typical hotel carpet. It also has an awesome couch by the window which has been a great work spot for me. The bed/pillows/blanket situation is my favorite part of the room and I got the most amazing nap ever in after arriving! It's definitely going to be hard to get up in the morning...
I love the bar area, and I love the outdoor attached patio even more. The lady who was working the bar during the day today was not friendly at all, but the night staff I saw down there this evening looked really fun & attentive. The menu (same down at bar as the room service menu) is just okay and the two items I had (hummus and a salad) were just so-so. I bet there wine is okay, though... considering finding that out for myself!
Only cons are the thin walls and the noise outside as many yelpers have noted... I hear lots of girls screaming and laughing, so apparently something funny is going on out there. Also, one of the elevators here is really shady and sometimes the doors don't open when you get to your floor until you press the button again, which caused a brief moment of panic for me. All in all a great place!” (Yelp January 2011)
"Really neat hotel, great staff" Great hotel for the price, accommodating staff- cool rooms- wished I could have stayed longer! (TripAdvisor October 4, 2009)
"Incredible Hotel for the Price" I have stayed at Indigo over a dozen times on business and pleasure as I am out in Arizona alot. The location is right in the middle of great restaurants, etc. and the rooms are very cool but also very functional. I am writing finally because this time the staff went out of the way even more than they usually do to make everything easy for my stay. It feels like a much smaller hotel than it is because the people who work there are so friendly. Cool art work, great modern design, and compared to the W or Valley Ho, you can't beat this location, room, and design for the $$...... (TripAdvisor September 14, 2009)
"Great Location, Room, & Terrific Staff" - Being my first time in Scottsdale, I stayed in OldTown. Great Choice. This Hotel Indigo was my 1st time staying in the Brand. I was very impressed from the time I checked in. The staff was friendly and helpful. I was alone so I needed some direction on nightlife and food. All of the places I was guided to I would go to again. Was a great change of pace having Hardwood floors in my Hotel Room. Bed was comfortable, bathroom had nice amenities, & a clean room is always a plus. I didn't eat in the restaurant, but I did have a few drinks, and the out door deck was nice to relax on after a day of touring around. If you have the chance, stay here, you won't be disappointed.
